Beca Tierney 2013 para artistas en México

La Beca Tierney fue creada en 2003 por la Fundación de la Familia Tierney con el objetivo de impulsar y promover a jóvenes fotógrafos. El objetivo central de la beca es encontrar fotógrafos emergentes que serán los creadores líderes del mañana y apoyarlos durante los principales retos a los que se enfrentan al iniciar su carrera.
La Beca Tierney ofrece:
- Premio en efectivo de $5,000 dólares
- Asesoría durante un año para crear un proyecto resultante en un cuerpo de trabajo
- Participación en críticas y encuentros con el Consejo de asesores y otros becarios
- Publicación de los proyectos finales en la página de la Beca Tierney
- Participación en exposiciones colectivas con las imágenes resultantes del proyecto
En 2008 la Fundación Tierney expandió sus alcances a América Latina para apoyar a artistas en México, quienes pueden solicitar la Beca Tierney a través del Centro Fotográfico Manuel Álvarez Bravo (CFMAB) en Oaxaca, la Academia de Artes Visuales (AAVI) en la Ciudad de México y una beca especial para el Norte de México (Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Sinaloa, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León y Tamaulipas).
La fecha límite para enviar la solicitud de aspirantes a través del CFMAB y de AAVI es el sábado 18 de mayo. Los aplicantes a la beca del norte de méxico podrán enviar su solicitud hasta el 31 de mayo.
Melba Arellano (SFC 2012), Roberto Tondopó (SFC 2010), Cannon Bernáldez (SFC 2007) y Adela Goldbard (SFC 2004) son algunos de los becarios mexicanos de este programa.
